IVCC actors bring show on the road to Hegeler Carus Mansion

Illinois Valley Community College will present “The Snow Queen” by speech and drama instructor David Allan Kuester, at 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 at Hegeler Carus Mansion, 1307 Seventh St., La Salle.

The Snow Queen, a fantasy and magical retelling of the classic Nordic folk tale for young audiences, follows the adventures of Gerta in her search for best friend Kai who has been abducted and placed under the magic spell of the legendary evil Snow Queen.

Colorful characters include King Winter, a helpful elf and a meddling and mischievous goblin that gives this classic tale a new twist keeping audiences, young and old, enchanted.

The cast, listed by hometown are: Karen Lesman of La Salle, as Snow Queen; Jessica Nelson of Ladd as Elf; Jessica Yoesle of Marseilles as Gerta; Jacob Montgomery of Ottawa as Winter and Santa; Andrew Loebach of Peruas Gob; and Rhodes Garland of Spring Valley as Kai.
