Harold E. Russell Post 938 American Legion, Ladd will conduct Veterans Day Services at 10:50 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11 in War Memorial Park, Ladd.
In the event of rain, the service will be in the ladd American Legion hall.
At Logan Junior High, Princeton
Logan Junior High School will host a Veterans Day assembly at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 in Pannebaker Gymnasium.
All community members may attend. Patriotic music, speeches and tributes to the veterans will be highlighted to commemorate the day.
All veterans in attendance are encouraged to come to a breakfast at 8 a.m. in the Logan Junior High auxiliary gymnasium, located by the main office.
Invitations for the event can be picked up at Logan Junior High or at the American Legion Hall.
The invitation sheets are not a requirement to attend, but the sheets do allow all veterans to provide the school with some background information about themselves, so they can receive recognition in the assembly’s program.
The guest speaker for the assembly will be Brian Herron.
He not only is a veteran, but a longtime teacher and coach for Princeton Elementary School District, who is retiring at the end of the 2012-13 school year.
Princeton Veterans Group
to conduct service at park on South Main Street
Princeton Veterans Group will conduct Veterans Day Services at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12 at the park on South Main Street, Princeton.
The American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary Unit 125 and the Princeton Daughters of the American Revolution also will participate in the services by presenting
a decorated wreath at the memorial at Soldiers and Sailors Park.
Those participating in the services are asked to be at the park no later than 10:15 a.m. to line up.
Guest speaker will be Tom Root, Princeton police chief and retired Army National Guard officer.
Root has a long list of military career accomplishments.
Following the services, the American Legion post on West Peru Street will serve refreshments.
Princeton High School committee to serve breakfast, have ceremony at flagpole
The First Class Committee of Princeton High School invites all area veterans to attend a breakfast and flagpole ceremony beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12 in the cafeteria of PHS.
At 7:45 a.m., after breakfast, students will gather at the flagpole and recite the Pledge of Allegiance, and the Star Spangled Singers will lead the national anthem. The local American Legion and VFW will close with a 21-gun salute.
“If you are unable to attend, we take this opportunity to thank you for all you have done to build and preserve these United States of America,” said Pat Marquis and the committee.

At St. Louis School, Princeton
St. Louis School’s junior high in Princeton invites all veterans and current military to the annual Veterans Day program.
The program will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 in Harkrader Hall at St. Louis School, Princeton. Guests should arrive 15 minutes early to sign in. A dessert reception for all veterans and current military will follow the assembly. Veterans planning to attend are asked to call (815) 872-8521.
The public is invited to the assembly at 1 p.m. to join in honoring those who have served and those who are currently serving our country.
