MERIDEN — A Meriden resident faces a felony charge for allegedly pummeling a car with bullets, rocks and a hammer, La Salle County Sheriff’s Office said.
Jamie Lewis, 29, of 4413 E. 694 th Road was charged Monday with criminal damage to property and was being held in La Salle County Jail today while awaiting a bond hearing.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to Lewis’ residence, located east of Interstate 39, at 1:03 p.m. Monday about a domestic disturbance.
“Deputies found that the resident, Jamie Lewis, 29, had fired several shots from a handgun into his girlfriend’s unoccupied vehicle,” the sheriff’s office reported. “After firing the gun, Lewis used rocks and a hammer to further damage the vehicle.”
Deputies reported no injuries in the incident.
