Sunday brings March for Babies to Princeton, Peru


If you go:
There will be two events Sunday, April 27 to raise support for March of Dimes Foundation.

The River Valley March for Babies will be at 1 p.m. at the Illinois Valley Y, 300 Walnut Drive, Peru. Registration is at noon.

The Princeton March for Babies will be at 11 a.m. at Darius Miller Park, N. Main St. Registration is at 10 a.m.

PRINCETON — The March of Dimes Princeton Walk for Babies will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday at Darius Miller Park located on North Main Street south of the railroad tracks.

Registration begins at 10 a.m.

Sponsored by Perry Memorial Hospital, there will be family teams, company teams, and people walking with friends.

“We’re trying to give all babies a healthy start,” said Heartland Division Director Peggy Cain. “It’s going to be a fun family day. We’ve got great food, face painters and a live band.”

The March of Dimes is dedicated to helping mothers have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies by researching to prevent birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

An at-will donation will be accepted, but not required. For more information, visit marchforbabies.org.
