During the Peru Elementary School Board meeting this week, superintendent Mark Cross said he will apply for a $50,000 school maintenance grant, which he said would only cover a small portion of the needs at Washington School.
* Cross said the district is anticipating the state perhaps only paying 84 percent of what it should based on a general state aid formula; it’s currently paying about 89 percent.
* The board re-employed Melissa Bosnich as Washington principal, Sherri Pannier as Parkside dean of students/district technology coordinator and Brandi Anderson-Maier as school psychologist/special services director for the 2013-14 school term. They work on single-year contracts, while principals Lori Madden and Sara McDonald and Cross are under multi-year contracts.
* The board also re-employed the following 16 nontenured teachers for the 2013-14 school term: Fourth Year (re-employment results in tenure) — Michele Smudzinski, Alexis Rebholz, Lindsay Ferrari, Rachel Pett, Lisa Goddard and Cassie Rissman; Third year — Mary Knaub; Second year — Ashlei Mosher, Dawn Ladzinski, Alison Bryant and Christine Mitchell; First year — Abby Heider, Colleen Schmidt, Ashley Konczak, Daniel Hammond and Atlee Stalker.
