GRANVILLE - The Granville Village Board approved more ordinances Tuesday to continue with its plans to create a TIF district.
The board approved ordinances establishing and designating the Granville business district and approving the business district plan, and imposing business district taxes.
A tax will be implemented on certain items sold at Dollar General, which can be used to recoup the cost of the village's water and sewer installation to the Dollar General site.
In other news:
- The board approved annexing Al Cioni's property into the village and amending the zoning classification of the property from residential to commercial.
- The board approved the police protection contract with Standard. The five-year contract calls for a $25 per quarter increase over the prior contract.
- The board approved paying for one session of swim lessons at the Hennepin pool for every Granville child who signs up for lessons.
- The board approved joining the Putnam County Rotary.
