Spring Valley Boosters announce lighting contest winners

Bassetti, who has decorated his home and yard for about 40 years, regularly checks his decorative mailbox for letters written to Santa by neighborhood children. Winners have been announced in Spring Valley Boosters’ Holiday Home Lighting Contest.

First-place winner Dan Croissant, 12 Oakdale Court, was awarded $100; second-place winner, Donald Bassetti, 322 W. Devlin St., $75; and third-place winner, Wayne Acuncius, 204 E. Sixth St., $50.

A map of all the homes participating is available at Spring Valley City Clerk’s office, on the city website at www.spring-valley.il.us or in the city hall community room on Saturday, following the Lighted Santa Parade, which begins at 6 p.m. Saturday at Hall High School.

In addition to the winners, participating homes were at 321 W. Devlin St., 305 W. Minnesota St., 310 Marquette Road, 124 E. Cleveland St., 208 E. Cleveland St., 725 N. Hennessey St., 405 W. Third St. and 7 Dover Drive.
