Salvation Army accepts requests for Christmas-gift help

OTTAWA — The Salvation Army in Ottawa will take applications for Christmas assistance 10 a.m.-noon and 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, Oct. 15-Nov. 9 at The Salvation Army, 516 W. Madison St., Ottawa.

Applicants will need to bring with them proof of residence in La Salle County (excluding Streator. Streator has its own Christmas assistance program); proof of income; Illinois picture ID or driver’s license; birth certificate or state medical card or tax papers for all children 12 years and younger; and three suggestions of toys for each child.
