Walker recently won a $4 million jackpot in the Illinois Lottery’s $4 million Gold Bullion instant game. She took the lump sum payment of $1.6 million.

“I fell to the floor,”Walkersaid as she explained her reaction to winning the ticket. “I get to be a full-time grandma.”

Last week,Walkercame to the Shell “Express Way” gas station on U.S. 23 in Ottawa to purchase her usual batch of lottery tickets. At that time, she played three $20 instant win games.

In keeping with her tradition, she bought the tickets, entered her car and locked it with her elbow, took a drag from her smoke and began scratching.

The first ticket was a $100 winner. The second would change her life forever.

Walker said she plans to take her grandchildren to Disney World and buy a new sewing machine. The rest of her winnings will be invested so that she doesn’t have to work anymore.

“I actually hired an accountant,” she said. “Do you know how foreign that is to me?”

As for playing the lottery in the future,Walkersaid she’ll keep playing the tickets but probably go to the boat far less.

“It’s a hobby,” she said.
