Smith joins Centrue Bank's business development team

PRINCETON — Michael E. Smith is Centrue Bank’s new vice president/regional business development officer.
Smith will develop leads and strengthen customer relationships for all areas of the bank’s business, including commercial lending, mortgage banking, treasury management, consumer lending and depository services. Smith is at Centrue’s downtown Princeton office and will serve the Princeton, Peru and surrounding communities.
With more than two decades of banking experience, Smith spent the past 16 years at Heartland Bank & Trust Co., formerly Citizens First National Bank, where he most recently served as vice president, retail and community banking officer. A long time resident of Princeton, Smith is active in local, civic and charitable organizations, including the Boy Scouts, Junior Achievement, Bureau Valley Volunteer Hospice, Relay for Life and St. Louis Church.
Smith holds a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from St. Ambrose University and has completed the graduate school of banking program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
