Three separate heroin busts reported in Streator


Heroin, crack in Peru:
Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team on Thursday charged Matthew Hazlewood Jr., 31, of 16½ W. U.S. 6, Peru with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance (heroin), a Class 2 felony, and Cara Roberts, 31, of the same address, with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (crack cocaine), a Class 4 Felony, according to a TRIDENT report.

Hazlewood reportedly delivered less than one gram of purported heroin to a person cooperating with TRI-DENT. Roberts was present with Hazlewood during the narcotic delivery and was found to be in possession of crack cocaine, TRIDENT reported.

STREATOR — Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team released three drug-bust reports Friday.

On Thursday, TRIDENT charged Anthony M. Johnson, 28, unknown address, Streator, with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance (heroin), a Class 2 felony.
In an investigation of narcotic sales activity in Streator, conducted by TRIDENT, Johnson delivered less than one gram of purported heroin to a person cooperating with TRIDENT, according to TRIDENT. Johnson was immediately taken into custody by TRIDENT agents. Johnson was found to have ties not only to Streator, but also to the La Salle-Peru area.

Also Thursday, Tyler Deshean Skerett, 19, of 115 W. Hickory St., Streator was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance (heroin), a class 1 felony. Skerett reportedly delivered one gram of purported heroin to a person cooperating with TRIDENT, according to TRIDENT.

Additionally Thursday, Jessica M. Holloway, 26, of 805 E. Kent St., Streator and Toby J. Harper, 34, same address, were charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance (heroin), a class 2 felony.

Holloway reportedly delivered less than one gram of purported heroin to a person cooperating with TRIDENT. After further investigation, Harper was found to have assisted in the facilitation of the delivery of heroin, and Harper was taken into custody, TRIDENT said.

TRIDENT consists of Streator, Ottawa, La Salle, Princeton, Oglesby and Mendota Police Departments, along with the La Salle, Putnam and Bureau County Sheriff’s Offices.
