Princeton parks employee charged with sex abuse of a child under 13

NT Staff

Ryan G. Luecke, 30, of Peru was charged with one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse (child under 13 years of age). The charge is a Class 2 felony with a base sentencing range of 3-7 years in prison.

The purported victim is an 8-year-old boy. Additional details were not immediately available and state’s attorney Pat Herrmann said Luecke was arrested under a sealed warrant, not open to public inspection.

In the release, police said the alleged abuse took place at Princeton’s Metro Center between June 1 and Sept. 1. Additional charges may be pending, police said.

Luecke posted $2,500 cash on $25,000 bond and was released from Bureau County Jail. His next court appearance is Dec. 11 before Circuit Judge Marc Bernabei.

In a faxed statement, Elaine Russell, executive director of Bureau County Metro Center/Princeton Park District, declined comment and directed all questions to the authorities.

The case is being handled by John Shofner, an investigator with Princeton Police Department. Shofner has asked that anyone with additional information about the case contact him at (815) 872-2351.
