Stopping bullying, scapegoating a big issue for communities

Illinois Valley Community College’s Diversity Team will host “Mimetic Theory: Scapegoating, Bullying, Violence and a Way to Peace” noon-1 p.m. today in Room C 316 and 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11 in Ottawa Center’s Room 105.

Pastor Lisa Hadler will present an examination of anthropologist Rene’ Girards’ Mimetic Theory, explaining the roots of human conflict and violence and offering a way to peace.
