Police Reports
A 15-year-old Oglesby boy was charged with curfew and unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor in the 600 block of East Walnut Street, Oglesby police said.

Edward Schook, 32, of 225 S. Glen Ave., Oglesby was charged with assault at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of East Walnut Street, where he allegedly threatened someone with an aluminum baseball bat, Oglesby police said.

Colton R. Lester, 23, of 1039 N. 17th Road, Tonica was charged with driving while suspended at 10:49 p.m. Tuesday on Route 251 at North 25th Road, Oglesby police said.


Wayne M. King, 67, of 304 W. Dakota St., Spring Valley was charged Tuesday at 9:40 a.m., with public intoxication in the 300 block of West Dakota Street, according to Spring Valley police. 

Brittany L. Turner, 24, of 343 Fifth St., La Salle was picked up at 8:08 a.m. Monday in the 400 block of East Saint Paul Street on a warrant for domestic battery, according to Spring Valley police. 

Jeremy P. Cooley, 26, of 111 Elm St., Spring Valley was cited at 11 a.m. Monday with violation of city ordinances (high grass and an abandoned vehicle) at his residence, according to Spring Valley police. 

Devon T. Bertalot, 23, of 320 E. Iowa St., Spring Valley was charged at 11:08 p.m. Sunday with disorderly conduct and battery in the 300 block of E. Minnesota Street, according to Spring Valley Police. 

Joesph L. Kohr, 18, of 413 E. St. Paul St., Spring Valley was charged at 12:01 a.m. Sunday with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor in the 100 block of East St. Paul Street and also was picked up on a warrant for failure to appear (unlawful consumption), according to Spring Valley police. 

Karsson B. Durham, 34, of 121 W. Erie St., Spring Valley was charged at 9:15 p.m. Friday with domestic battery after police responded to a call to the residence, according to Spring Valley police. Also, a 17-year-old Spring Valley boy was charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor, according to the report.

Rigoberto Mejia, 21, of 101 W. Cleveland St., Spring Valley was picked up at 3:02 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of West Dakota Street on a failure-to-appear warrant (driving while license suspended), according to Spring Valley police. 

NEPONSET — A vehicle driven by David E. Serpico of 1212 Chicago St., Mendota struck a deer at 9:21 p.m. Monday at 1170 North Avenue, about ½ mile west of 650 East Street, according to Bureau County Sheriff’s Department.

PRINCETON — A vehicle driven by Adrian Stoddard of 507 S. Raven Road, Shorewood struck a deer at 9:06 p.m. Monday on Interstate 180 northbound south of Princeton, according to Bureau County Sheriff’s Department.

MENDOTA — John H. O’Brien, 48, of 700 Pennsylvania Ave., Mendota was charged with driving with suspended license and failure to secure a child age 8 but under age 16 in a properly adjusted seat belt at 7:33 a.m. Wednesday following a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Main Street, according to Mendota police.

SOMONAUK — Daniel F. Glover, 59, of 128 W. Cherry St., Compton was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident at 3:01 p.m. Tuesday after the 2002 Ford Escort he was driving eastbound on Suydam Road near Maplewood Road attempted to pass a tractor pulling cultivators driven by John L. Gudmunson, 56, of 10881 Suydam Road, Somonauk before striking one of the cultivators while the tractor was turning, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s office.
