Jordan L. Dixon, 27, of 3037 E. Third Road, La Salle was charged with retail theft at 5:08 p.m. Saturday at MC Sports, 1651 38th St., Peru, according to Peru police.
William J. Kummer, 46, of Streator filed a report that he struck a deer with his vehicle at 8:10 a.m. Friday on East 22nd Road near North 12th Road in Allen Township, La Salle County Sheriff’s Office said. No injuries were reported.
Jon A. Kannmacher, 51, of 1334 U.S. 34 Lot 1, Earlville was charged with domestic battery at 8:35 p.m. Friday at his residence, La Salle County Sheriff’s Office said.
John Grooms, 32, of Marseilles turned himself in at the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office fir an arrest warrant for failure to appear in court at 5 p.m. Friday, La Salle County Sheriff’s Office said.
Tom Walsh, 61, of Danvers was charged with driving without insurance after deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident at 8:39 p.m. Sunday on North 20th Road near East 2nd Road east of Tonica, according to La Salle County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said Walsh’s vehicle collided with a vehicle driven by Todd Hale, 16, of Peru. No injuries were reported.
Jeffrey Schiabley, 26, of Plano was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with vehicle damage, failure to report an accident to a police authority and driving an uninsured vehicle after deputies investigated a two-vehicle accident at 9 a.m. Sunday at 415 S. East St., Earlville, according to La Salle County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said Shiabley’s vehicle collided with a vehicle driven by Kathleen Beuster, 55, of Earlville. No injuries were reported.
Albert Bazan, 80, of Seneca was charged with battery for throwing snow at Walter S. Jefferson, 54, of Seneca while he was seated in his truck at 1:44 p.m. Saturday, according to La Salle County Sheriff’s Office.
Cale S. Krysiak, 35, of 406 Oakland St., Seatonville was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident following a two-vehicle crash at 7:53 p.m. Saturday at Dakota and Richards streets, Spring Valley police said. Krysiak said he was eastbound on Dakota Street looking for a place to return his Redbox movie when he noticed that the vehicle in front of him had stopped to turn left onto Richards Street. Krysiak’s vehicle hit the rear end of a SUV driven by Israel Serrano, 22, of 168 E. Fourth St., DePue, the report said.
PRINCETON — Arthur N. Gregory, 58, of Princeton was charged with failure to yield at a stop intersection after the vehicle he was driving struck a vehicle driven by Mark J. Austin, 61, also of Princeton at 9:08 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Pleasant and Hudson, according to Princeton Police Department.
TISKILWA — A vehicle driven by Dennis E. Zehr of 18347 1250 N. Ave., Tiskilwa struck a deer at 6:35 p.m. Friday on the 1500 block of S. Main St., according to Bureau County Sheriff’s Department.
WYANET — A vehicle driven by Colby T. Wittig of 507 S. King St., Wyanet struck a deer at 7:59 p.m. Sunday on Wyanet/Walnut Road about 1/2 mile south of 2200 N. Ave, according to Bureau County Sheriff’s Department.
DALZELL — Brian P. Robeza, 32, of 501 E. Third St., Spring Valley was charged with domestic battery and “resist, obstruct or disarm” an officer at 8:37 p.m. Sunday at 112 Scott St., Dalzell, according to Bureau County Sheriff’s Department.
A car caught on fire at 5:21 p.m. Friday while leaving the First State Bank Plaza North in Mendota. No one was injured, and there was no damage to the building, but the car was described as a total loss, according to the Mendota Fire Department.
Two juveniles, ages 14 and 15, were given juvenile referrals after Mendota police were called to Mendota High School for a fistfight at 1:30 p.m. Friday, according to Mendota police.
Carl Winchester, 49, of 2907 E. 1529th Road, Ottawa was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, loud exhaust, improper lane usage and disobeying a traffic control device at 11:09 p.m. Saturday at Fifth and LaHarpe streets, according to La Salle police.
