Andrew Jacob Kunkel, son of Andrew and Lourdes Kunkel of Elmhurst, was baptized Nov. 10 at Immaculate Conception Church, Elmhurst by the Rev. Scott McCawley. Sponsors were Claire Kunkel and Victor Soliz. Grandparents are Sandra and Juan Soliz of Elmhurst and Steve and Mary Kunkel of Lostant and great-grandparents are Al and Rita Kunkel of Lostant.

Police Reports
Brian W. Croxton, 40, of Seneca was charged with hunting over bait and illegally feeding wildlife (bow-hunting over a mineral block) at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 30 two miles east of Wedron, according to Illinois Conservation Police.

Tia R. Rose, 21, and Edgar Mendez, 33, both of 32658 Route 29, Spring Valley and Maria O. Mendez, 35, of 427 Seventh St., Peru were charged with felony retail theft at 3:56 p.m. Monday at Menards, Peru, according to Peru police.

Cera M. Donahue, 19, of 1610 Augustine Ave., Mendota was charged with retail theft at 6:14 p.m. Monday at Kohl’s, Peru, according to Peru police.

Fredrick N. Ashbaugh, 76, of 409 W. Fourth St., Spring Valley was charged with improper lane usage following a one-vehicle accident at 2:56 p.m. Sunday on U.S. 6 in the area known as the Spring Valley curves, Spring Valley police said. Ashbaugh was westbound on U.S. 6 when he lost control of his vehicle due to snow. His vehicle then entered the eastbound lane of U.S. 6 and went through the ditch on the other side. The vehicle finally came to rest after striking a pole, the report said. Ashbaugh was taken to St. Margaret’s Hospital, Spring Valley by the 10/33 ambulance. He was treated and released.

Bobby D. Cole Jr., 19, of 1012 Clinton St., Ottawa was charged with domestic battery Thursday in his residence, Ottawa police said.

Shawn Kennedy, 36, of 1223 Adams St., Apt. G, Ottawa was charged with no valid driver’s license and speeding Thursday at East Stevenson Road at MBL Drive, Ottawa police said.

Justin Green, 22, of 214 W. Superior St., Ottawa was charged with driving while suspended Friday in the 100 block of East Norris Drive, Ottawa police said.
