Correction
An incorrect first name was reported in Tuesday’s paper in an article about bus service bids. Irene Nelson-Parola is the local branch supervisor for Rock Island-based Johannes Bus Service.

Police Reports
Paige V. Kreitzer, 22, of 3227 Manchester Ave., Peoria was picked up in a Fulton County warrant for failure to appear (domestic battery) at 10:54 p.m. Monday at 229 E. First St., Spring Valley police said.

J.W. Bell, 60, of 3550 Paradise Road, Las Vegas, Nev., was charged with no valid driver’s license and expired registration at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate 80, Peru, according to Peru police.

Christopher S. Custer, 29, of 534 Pearl St., Denver, Colo., was charged with driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia and cannabis at 12:55 p.m. Wednesday on Interstate 80, Peru, according to Peru police.

Travis L. Martinson, 21, of 660 N. 42nd Road, Mendota was charged with driving under the influence, driving under the influence with at least 0.08 percent blood-alcohol, failure to signal, disobeying a stop sign and illegal transportation of alcohol at 1:25 a.m. Friday at 11th and Chartres streets near the Peru-La Salle boundary, according to Peru police.

Kristina R. Johnson, 23, of 620 E. 11th St., Kewanee was charged with retail theft at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday at Wal-Mart, Peru and was picked up on a Henry County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of possession of narcotics equipment and a Tazewell County probation violation warrant for possession of a synthetic narcotic, according to Peru police.

Thore R. Pastorik, 25, of 2570 N. 2879th Road, Marseilles was charged with possession of a controlled substance believed to be heroin and possession of a weapon (two rounds of ammunition) by a convicted felon after a parole warrant search at 12:19 p.m. Wednesday at 1507 36th St., Peru, according to Peru police.

Two Illinois Valley men were injured at 1:52 p.m. May 16 on southbound Interstate 39 between Tonica and Lostant after the small truck they were riding in was slammed into from behind by a Cadillac, according to state police.
Jacob Kindom, 78, of Minneapolis, Minn., told police he became fatigued and was trying to make it to the next rest area, but he either fell asleep or blacked out. Kindom was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, according to state police.
The driver of the small truck that was struck from behind was Leonard Buster, 60, of Oglesby, according to state police. Buster’s passengers, John Smith, 52, of Peru, and Charles Butler, 27, of La Salle both were transported to Illinois Valley Community Hospital by Lostant Ambulance, state police said.

Zachary A. Farrell, 22, of 1626 Columbus Drive, Ottawa was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use and driving in the wrong lane after deputies made a traffic stop at 1:58 a.m. Wednesday on North 2153rd Road at East 2072nd Road near Ottawa, according to La Salle County Sheriff’s Office.

Gerald L. Weber, 48, of 4627 East 29th Road, Sandwich was charged with driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, disobeying a stop sign, improper lane usage and driving in the wrong lane after deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident at 4 p.m. Wednesday at East 29th and North 4650th roads near Lake Holiday, according to La Salle County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies reported Weber’s vehicle struck a vehicle stopped at a stop sign and driven by David Schiltz of 1975 North 40th Road, Sheridan.

DEPUE — Jose A. Guzman, 35, of 1124 E. St. Paul St., DePue was picked up on a Bureau County warrant for failure to appear at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday, according to DePue Police Department.

PRINCETON — A vehicle driven by Andrew S. McCarter, 33, of Princeton struck a deer at 9 p.m. Saturday on Sixth Street, police said.

A vehicle driven by Danny Wyatt Muse, of 2633 Van Eaton Ln., Memphis Tenn., struck a deer at noon May 16 at Plank Road ¼ mile south of 1700 North Avenue, Bureau County deputies said.

NEPONSET — Louis E. Wager, 39, of 403 S. Grove, Kewanee was transported to Kewanee Hospital after a one vehicle accident at 6:38 p.m. Friday. Wager was thrown from the motorcycle after the motorcycle left the roadway. A passenger refused treatment. Kewanee Hospital could not be reached for comment as of press time Wednesday.

PRINCETON — A vehicle driven by Charmaine A. Wright, 31, of 418 E. Lincoln St., Princeton struck a deer at 8:49 p.m. Monday at U.S. 6 and 2500 East Street, east of Princeton, according to Bureau County Sheriff’s Department.
