A reporter included incorrect information about an April 24 Peru school board meeting story on page A3 in the Saturday, April 27 edition. In an e-mail Monday, April 29, superintendent Mark Cross said that when he talked about this at the meeting, he said some school districts use a three-year lease cycle for technology purchases. Peru pays to own its equipment, he said in the e-mail.
Patricia Wicks, 55, of 139 Fourth St., Apt. 2, La Salle was charged with criminal trespass to land at 8:45 a.m. Monday at 235 Third St., according to La Salle police.
Sal Fiumefreddo, 52, of 427 Bucklin St., La Salle was picked up at 1:17 p.m. Monday in the 10 block of Third Street, La Salle on a Bureau County warrant for theft, La Salle police said.
A vehicle driven by Anthony K. Goodman of 2647 1575 North St., Sheffield struck a deer at 5 a.m. Thursday on Interstate 80 north of Wyanet, according to Bureau County Sheriff’s Department.
Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has identified the drivers involved in a school bus crash reported at 7:09 a.m. Monday at the intersection of county highways 1175E and 850N in Granville Township.
Mark E. Carsten, 59, of Ottawa was driving a Putnam County school bus headed north on County Highway 1175. He was taken to St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley; school superintendent Jay McCracken said the bus driver and all occupants are OK. The driver of the car in the crash was more seriously injured. Brien N. Redshaw, 26, of Hennepin, whom police said failed to yield the right of way, was taken to St. Margaret’s and then transferred to Peoria. A spokeswoman for St. Francis Medical Center said Redshaw was in fair condition this morning.
The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by PCEMS, 10-33 Ambulance in Spring Valley and Granville Fire Department.
STREATOR — Earlier this month, Streator Police Department received a complaint about criminal damage to property at Marilla Park. It was reported that vehicles had been driven off the roadway and into the grass on the Disc Golf Course, damaging the sod by leaving ruts. A seven-day investigation resulted in the following persons being charged with Criminal Damage to Property: Troy Rodrick, 18, of 710 E. Livingston Road, Streator; Edward R. Webster, 21, of 1116 Arthur St., Streator; and three 17-year-old boys.
