Police Reports
A motorcycle operator and passenger both were injured when the bike they were on went out of control and hit a guardrail on Route 71 just east of Starved Rock State Park near the Point Shelter entrance at 1:34 p.m. Sunday. John D. Stauffenberg, 75, of Braidwood was transported to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa and later was transferred to St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, where he was listed in good condition this morning. Passenger Dawn A. Smith, 66, of West Hartford, Conn., was taken to St. Elizabeth in Ottawa.

Stephanie L. Streble, also known as Stephanie Ballard, 30, of 251 E. First St., Oglesby was charged with unlawful use of a weapon (Class 4 felony) at 2:19 a.m. Sunday in Doc’s Pub, 945 First St., La Salle. Streble attempted to exit the bar while police were investigating a disturbance. Police found a handgun in her possession, according to police.

Connor P. McNamara. 20, of 148 Marquette St. La Salle was charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor at 11:18 p.m. Sunday at 933 Fifth St., according to La Salle police.

Jason Crawford, 32, of 116 E. Iowa St., Ladd was charged with driving under the influence, driving under the influence with blood alcohol content greater than .08, driving without lights when required and failure to notify Secretary of State of a change of address at 1:49 a.m. Saturday at First and Marquette streets, according to La Salle police.
Heather J. Perez. 33, of 628 Crosat St., La Salle was charged with driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured vehicle at 3:07 a.m. Saturday in the 700 block of Crosat Street, according to La Salle police.

Miguel Huichapa, 49, of Streator was charged with driving with a suspended license and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle after deputies made a traffic stop at 4:56 a.m. Saturday at Fourth and Shabbona streets in Streator, according to La Salle County Sheriff’s Office.

Carolina V. Garcia, 45, of Aurora was charged with improper lane usage, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to report an accident to police and leaving the scene of an accident after deputies investigated a single-vehicle accident at 5:47 a.m. Saturday at 1920 North 31st Road near Dayton, according to La Salle County Sheriff’s Office.

A vehicle driven by Nicole M. Coutee, 41, of Elgin struck a deer at 3:19 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 80 near Marseilles, according to La Salle County Sheriff’s Office.

Roosevelt J. Jones, 20, of 920 W. Norris Drive, Ottawa was picked up Friday at 403 E. Norris Drive on an original La Salle County warrant charging him with aggravated assault, Ottawa police said.

Christopher W. Downey, 21, of 877 Union St., Ottawa was charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia Sunday at 1100 E. Norris Drive, Ottawa police said.

Bruce L. Dale, 43, homeless (also listed in Earlville) was picked up Sunday at 301 W. Lafayette St. on a Kendall County warrant for failure to appear (carrying of weapons), Ottawa police said.

LADD — Janet M. Goodknight, 56, of 315 Seventh St., Peru was charged with canceled registration and disobeying a traffic control device at 9:34 p.m. Sunday on Route 89 north of U.S. 6, Ladd, Bureau County Sheriff’s Office said.

LADD — Larry L. Thomas, 25, of 664 Mackinaw Ave., Calumet City was charged with suspended driver’s license at 10:30 p.m. Sunday on Route 89 south of Ladd, Bureau County Sheriff’s Office said. Freddie L. White, 30, of 10808 S. Morgan, Chicago also was picked up on an in-state warrant, the sheriff’s office said.

NEW BEDFORD — Zachary D. Jacobson, 22, of 915 N. Church St., Princeton was transported to Sterling Hospital after a single-vehicle accident at 7:15 a.m. Sept. 21 north of New Bedford on 750 East Street about ½ mile north of 2700 North Avenue, Bureau County Sheriff’s Office said.

SHEFFIELD — A vehicle driven by Tad R. Stout of 716 E. Pleasant St., Kewanee struck a deer at 7:45 a.m. Friday on Old Mill Road about ¼ mile west of South Reed Street, Sheffield, Bureau County Sheriff’s Office said.

Douglas E. Mueller, 29, of 102 E. Viaghiglieri Ave., Toluca was charged with retail theft at 1:48 p.m. Friday at Wal-Mart, Peru, according to Peru police.

Benjamin W. Wolf, 24, of 2956 E. 419th Road, La Salle was charged with possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia at 9:40 p.m. Saturday at Lafayette Street and U.S. 6, La Salle, according to Peru police.

Stephen T. Trumbo, 46, of Marseilles was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Ottawa after he was bicycling west on North 2753rd Road between Ottawa and Marseilles, swerved to the center of the road and was struck from behind by a car driven by Eden T. Thomas, 22, of Seneca at 9:53 a.m. Friday, according to La Salle County Sheriff’s Office. St. Elizabeth doesn’t provide medical information on patients.

MENDOTA — Adam R. Schultz, 19, of 1105 Monroe St., Mendota was charged with driving under the influence, illegal transportation of alcohol, possession of cannabis and possession of alcohol by a minor at 12:21 a.m. Sunday following a traffic stop on 13th Avenue at 22nd Street, according to Mendota police.
 
MENDOTA — Dustin B. Dearing, 31, of Compton was charged with domestic battery and violation of an order of protection at 10:57 a.m. Sunday after officers were called to a disturbance in the 700 block of 13th Avenue, according to Mendota police.
