If road conditions are severe enough, your delivery person may not be able to deliver your NewsTribune at all on Monday.
In this case, your Monday edition will be delivered with your Tuesday newspaper.
We ask you to be understanding for the safety of our carriers.
The Midwest Morel Fest will be May 2-3 at Washington Square Park, on Route 23 in downtown Ottawa.
The cost for seminar and hunt is $30 for people 13 and older, $15 for people 12 and under, and walk-ins add $5. No cancellations and no refunds. Registration deadline is May 1. Walk-ins permitted if space allows. Call the Ottawa Visitors Center to register, (815) 434-2737 or (888) 688-2924.
FRIDAY, MAY 2
4 p.m., Guided hunt seminar by Morel University. Limited to 120 hunters.
SATURDAY, MAY 3
Championship hunt, limit of 440 hunters. Sign-in begins at 7 a.m. with a deadline of 8:45am. Contestants will be bused to a hunt site. No other vehicles will be allowed to follow.
1 p.m., public morel auction.
2:30 p.m. morel awards ceremony.
Other events — Morel mushroom museum, farmers market, hand and homemade market, Reddick Mansion tours, Ottawa Scouting Museum, shopping and dining, Main Street antiques.
