Illinois Walleye Trail competitors and other walleye and sauger anglers are looking forward to ice-out.
Illinois Walleye Trail will host J.J’s Pub eighth annual walleye and sauger tournament Sunday, Feb. 24 from the ramp at Allen Park in Ottawa, according to tournament series director Adam Sandor.
Boat inspection will begin at 5:45 a.m. at Allen Park’s east ramp. All boats must be inspected by 6:40 a.m., and a brief rules meeting will be at 6:45. Take-off is at 7 a.m. and weigh-in at 1 p.m. All fish will be kept in live wells and trailered to weigh-in site and released.
Entry fee is $100 per boat, three-person teams are allowed, with two rods per person. A $10 optional big fish pot also will be available. A $15 late fee will be added for all entries received the day of the event.
All state rules apply: 14-inch minimum length and a six-fish limit. Lunch and awards will be provided at J.J.’s Pub following the weigh-in.
