Bald Eagle Watch Jan. 26-27 at Starved Rock

♦ Raptor awareness program with live bald eagle, 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4
p.m., World Bird Sanctuary, St. Louis, Mo. Tickets required. Visit Illinois Audubon Society's booth to pick up free tickets before each show.
♦ The Art of Falconry by Rich Escutia, master falconer, 11 a.m. La Salle Room. Learn the history of falconry. Escutia will have three falconry birds.
♦ Stories from the River Valley by Steve Seaborn, Illinois Valley Historian, 1 p.m., La Salle Room. Learn why immigrants came here for different reasons and contributed unique and lasting history.
♦ Children activities, 9 a.m. to 4 pm., Great Hall.
♦ Exhibitors: Friends of the Fox River, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Illinois River National Wildlife & Fish Refuges, Illinois River Road National Scenic Byway, La Salle County Master Gardeners/Naturalists, Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie, The Conservation Foundation, The Wetlands Initiative, Trees Forever and Wildlife Prairie State Park.

♦ Illinois birds of prey natural history and live demonstration presented by Illinois Raptor Center, Decatur, 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Visit front desk to pick free tickets before each show.
♦ High-powered spotting telescopes and eagle viewing with Starved Rock Audubon Society members available to answer questions.
♦ Native American Dancer, 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.
♦ Face Painting, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
♦ Suet Feeder Make and Take, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Learn how to make a simple feeder that will attract birds to your backyard.
♦ Food available 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

♦ Children activities from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

♦ Take the Trolley, all-day armband $1. Park and ride the trolley between Starved Rock Lodge, Starved Rock Visitor Center and Illinois Waterway Visitor Center.

♦ For eagle activity at Starved Rock Lock & Dam call the Illinois Waterway Visitor Center at (815) 667-4054. For event information call Illinois Audubon Society at (217) 544-BIRD, or visit
