Dorothy F. Sondgeroth, 69, of 800 Fifth Ave., Mendota died at 9:30 p.m. May 16, 2013, in her residence.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Schwarz Funeral Home, Mendota with the Rev. Michael Morrell officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was born Nov. 2, 1943, in Campbellsville, Ky., to Marvin and Delilah (Stubbs) Kearney. She married Calvin Sondgeroth on Nov. 23, 1963, in Ottawa.
She attended Sandwich High School, graduating in 1961. She worked at James Knight CTSK in the 1960s, Sears in downtown Mendota for five years and retired from Parkway Restaurant in 2010 after 17 years.
She is survived by her father, Marvin of Plano; two sisters, Betty (Robert) Franklin of Milledgeville and Barbara (Frank) Hargett of Prescott, Ariz.; two brothers, Bud (Cheryl) Kearney of Campbellsville, Ky., and Carl (Jessica) Kearney of Sandwich; eight nieces, three nephews, three great-nieces and 10 great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin in 1991; and her mother. Memorials may be directed to Sauk Valley Humane Society or the family.
