Duwain “Red” L. Raridon, 88, of La Salle passed away Feb. 22, 2013, in Illinois Valley Community Hospital, Peru.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Winterrowd Funeral Home, Streator. Burial will be in the Long Point Cemetery with full military honor conducted by members of the Long Point and Streator American Legion and VFW.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday in the funeral home.
Red was born July 10, 1924, in Livingston County to Leslie and Anna (Davis) Raridon. He married Ruby Artman on Feb. 20, 1955, and she passed away Sept. 21, 2011.
Red attended Long Point Grade School and was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army.
He retired from La Salle County Asphalt and was a member of Long Point American Legion and Utica Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Randy (Ginny) Raridon of La Salle and Craig (Amy) Raridon of Azle, Texas; and two granddaughters, Jennifer and Nicole.
He was preceded in death by his wife; one brother, Mervin; and two sisters, Margaret Saatoff and Leatha Albertson.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the donor’s choice. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Durdan, Charles Durdan, Jon Durdan, Kevin Artman, Russ Artman and Chris Hunter.
