Vivian May

Vivian A. May, 93, of Princeton passed away Feb. 12, 2013, in Perry Memorial Hospital, Princeton.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, with Brian Strom officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service Saturday in the funeral home.

Mrs. May was born Oct. 14, 1919, in rural Tiskilwa to Earl and Eathel (Elliot) Miller. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1937. She was a lifelong homemaker and also worked at Harper-Wyman, retiring after 26 years. On Sept. 30, 1939, she married Glenn May in Princeton.

She was a leader in Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and 4-H when her children were young. She volunteered at the food pantry, delivered Meals on Wheels and was a member of the Bureau County Home Extension and Christ Community Church, formerly First Baptist Church in Princeton.

Vivian is survived by her four children, Sandra (Bill) Brown, Jack (Jacki) May, Janice (Larry) Isaacson and Dan (Bettie Jo) May, all of Princeton; 10 grandchildren, Gary Husser of Indiana, Brenda Rolsing of Quincy, Cory Husser of Colorado, Matt (Stacey) May of Princeton, Glenn (Lisa) May of Colorado, Lori (Bill) Clark of Princeton, John (Elizabeth) Isaacson of Princeton, Brad (Sue) May of Peru and Eric (Christine) May of Shorewood; one stepgrandson, Jared (Heather) Sheppard of Colorado; and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband on March 26, 1969; one son, Roger Glenn in infancy, one step-grandson Brett Sheppard, one sister and three brothers.

Memorials may be directed to Christ Community Church.
