Charles Gaull

Charles E. Gaull, 83, formerly of Oglesby, died at 12:52 a.m. Jan. 21, 2012, in St. Margaret’s Hospital, Spring Valley.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Shields Funeral Chapel, Oglesby. The Rev. Lloyd Johnson will officiate. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, La Salle, with full military honors by La Salle-Oglesby Veteran’s Memorial Group.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral chapel. Oglesby American Legion will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the chapel.

Charles was born Aug. 28, 1929, in Jonesville to Frank and Tena (Morton) Gaull. He married Patricia Morven on June 12, 1954, in Gardiner, Maine.

He worked as an operator at the Marquette and Illinois cement companies. He was a member of the Oglesby American Legion and AARP.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia of Oglesby; three daughters, Wendy (Warren) Munson and Tina (Douglas) Porter, both of Utica and Susan (Thomas) Whitman of South Mills, N.C.; one sister, Minnie (William) Martin of Streator; four grandchildren, Genna, Neal, Mia and Thomas; and four great-grandchildren, Mckinzie, Alex, Charlie and Brooklyn.

He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
