Reta (Crank) Young, 88, of Deer Park Township died Jan. 7, 2013, in St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Mueller Funeral Home, Ottawa, with the Rev. Ralph Deming, a close family friend, officiating. Interment will be in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Oakwood Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Reta was born Aug. 25, 1924, in Ottawa to George and Marguerite (O’Brien) Crank. She married Arthur H. Young on Jan. 5, 1947, in First Baptist Church Parsonage in Ottawa.
She graduated Ottawa Township High School in 1942. She worked as a bookkeeper for Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce for 21 years until her retirement. Reta was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ottawa.
Survivors are a daughter, Laura Murphy of Pontiac; one son, Stephen (Sally) Young of Deer Park Township; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Norma (Joseph) Armstrong of Grand Ridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; one daughter, Marlene Zepeda; and one brother, Melvin Crank.
Pallbearers will be Tom, Dan and Pat Murphy; Ben and Mike Zepeda; and Rich Hauger.
Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.
