Thomas Znaniecki



Thomas L. Znaniecki, 69, of 2409 Main St., Peru died at 7:52 p.m. Jan. 6, 2013, at home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley.
Pastor Chuck Maney will officiate. Burial will be at Peru City Cemetery with military graveside rites by Peru Veterans Memorial Group.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Mr. Znaniecki was born June 26, 1943, in Peru to Henry and Elizabeth “Elsie” (Kotecki) Znaniecki. He married Carol Hardin on Aug. 3, 1968, in Spring Valley.

He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam 1965-68.

He worked at Huntsman Chemical in Peru for 35 years, retiring Feb. 1, 2002. He was a member of Peru VFW and Spring Valley United Church of Christ. He was a former member of Peru Rescue Squad.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dan Znaniecki and Kevin Znaniecki, both of Peru, and Marc (Nicole) Znaniecki of La Salle; one daughter, Sara (Jody) Taliani of Hennepin; seven grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Guynn of Peru; and two brothers, David (Chris) Znaniecki of Peru and James Znaniecki of La Salle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Wayne and Kenneth Znaniecki.
