Roundup: L-P girls golf wins triangular

La Salle-Peru’s Rachel Senica fired a 44 on Wednesday at Tall Oaks Country Club in Toluca to earn medalist honors and lead the Lady Cavaliers to victory in a triangular.

L-P finished with 201 strokes to beat Fieldcrest (210) and Tri-Valley (230).
Natalie Fortner led the Knights with a 48.

St. Bede beats Orion
Sydney Eustice shot a medalist 46 on Wednesday at Valley View Golf Course in Cambridge to lead the Lady Bruins to a 197-262 Three Rivers Conference victory over Orion

PHS wins triangular
Princeton’s Arraia Hicks shot a 46 on Wednesday to earn medalist honors and lead the Tigresses to a triangular victory.

The Tigresses had a 198 team score to beat Rockridge (210) and DePue (262).
Mercedes Ruiz led the Lady Giants with a 53.

BOYS GOLF
SBA wins triangular
St. Bede’s Jarret Olson carded a 42, while Joey Dudek, Joe Kim and Jack Kunkel shot matching 43s on Wednesday to lead the Bruins to a Three Rivers Conference triangular victory.

The Bruins finished with 171 strokes to beat Erie (186) and Orion (195).

Princeton wins at home
Zach Hicks fired a 2-over-par 38 on Wednesday to win medalist honors and lead the Tigers to a Three Rivers Conference triangular victory.

Princeton recorded 169 strokes to beat Morrison (174) and Rockridge (191).

Henry’s Kennedy shoots 2-under-par
Henry’s Jake Kennedy carded a 2-under-par 33 on Wednesday to earn medalist honors and help the Mallards to a 1-1 record in a non-conference triangular.

The Mallards had a 177 team score to beat Putnam County (181) but lose to Streator (161).

Mitch Aimone led the Panthers with a 44.

MHS falls to Byron
Mendota’s Cody Phalen shot a team-best 44 on Wednesday at Prairie View Golf Club in Byron as the Trojans fell 15-8-185 to Byron in a Big Northern Conference match.

GIRLS TENNIS
Mendota tops Kewanee
The Lady Trojans claimed one singles match and all three doubles matches to earn a 4-1 victory in Mendota.

Whitney Lewis won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Mary Brandner and Kady Halbmaier were victorious at No. 1 doubles, Paige Simonton and Autumn Schimmer earned a victory at No. 2 doubles and Mallary Phalen and Malorie Defore were winners at No. 3 doubles.

OTHS beats Rochelle 5-0
The Lady Pirates swept a Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference match Wednesday in Rochelle.

Winning at singles for Ottawa were Molly Angell and Carly Charbonneau, while doubles winners were Mariah Cavanaugh and Bailey Bradish, Savanna Weitzel and Gertie Barron and Ashley Backos and Kaitlin Prettyman.

L-P loses to Morris
Bre Aubry and Olivia Pearson won 7-5, 4-6, 11-9 at No. 3 doubles for L-P’s only victory Wednesday in a 4-1 Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference loss to Morris in La Salle.

BOYS SOCCER
E-L falls in double OT
Cory Beardsley and Jesse Saylor each scored Wednesday, but it wasn’t enough as the Red Raiders dropped a Little Ten Conference game in double overtime in Serena.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Ottawa loses to Moline
Kenzie Rombach had four kills and Jessica Wignes added two kills and a pair of blocks Wednesday as the Lady Pirates lost 25-20, 25-12 to Moline a non-conference home match.
