Roundup: Putnam County girls basketball beats Serena

Putnam County junior Daniela Pavlovich scored a game-high 20 points Saturday to lead the Lady Panthers to a 63-54 overtime victory over Serena in Granville.

Pavlovich scored six points in overtime as PC (9-2) outscored the Lady Huskers (8-2) 15-6 in the extra period.

Carly Gonet and Taylor Pettit each scored 10 points for PC, while Venessa Voss added eight points.

Oregon 46, Mendota 36
Amy Devitt scored a team-high 13 points Saturday as the Lady Trojans fell in a Big Northern Conference West Division game in Mendota.

The Lady Trojans (6-3, 1-1 BNC West) led 16-15 at halftime.

Rochelle 51, Princeton 24
Emmalee Sears scored six points Saturday as the Tigresses fell in a non-conference game in Princeton.

Princeton trailed 31-6 at halftime.

Putnam County 60, Chillicothe IVC 58
Harold Fay hit a floater from the baseline with 6.1 seconds left Saturday to lift the Panthers to a non-conference victory on the road.

Fay scored a game-high 18 points for the Panthers (6-5), who overcame a 49-41 deficit entering the fourth quarter.

Xavier Warren added 13 points for PC.

At St. Louis
IVCC went 2-0 over the weekend at the St. Louis Classic.

The Lady Eagles beat Shawnee 82-53 then topped Mid-South 75-55 to improve to 10-2 on the season.

Against Shawnee, Arnisha Thomas led four IVCC players in double figures with 19 points to go along with 11 rebounds. Shareita Patton and Brytney Bennet each had 13 points, while Ottawa graduate Aysa Williams added 12.

Thomas had another double-double against Mid-South with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Marquette graduate Jessica Jessen contributed 11 points and three steals.

Lincoln 77, IVCC 73
JoVonn Griffin scored a game-high 24 points Saturday as the Eagles’ rally fell short in a non-conference road game.

The Eagles (8-3) trailed 39-29 at halftime.

St. Bede alumnus Alec Schwab scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, while Perry Adams had 13 points and Corey McCrary added 11.
