Oglesby students stand out again in history expositions

Oglesby Public Schools students were standouts again this year at the Regional History Fair.

“We had 22 projects and 26 students receive a superior rating which qualifies them for the State History Fair on May 2 in Springfield,” social studies teacher Michael Balestri said.

The following is a list of students that qualified along with their project titles:
Laura Agostino, Illinois’ State Capitols; Matthew Ambrose, Walt Disney; Rachel Black, Hegeler Carus Mansion; Sam Bowie, 1893 Colombian Exposition; Riley Brovelli and Madison Castelli, Cherry Mine Disaster; Ryan Cavaletto, Starved Rock Lock & Dam; Michael Cuevas, Jane Addams; Cierra Espinoza, Jelly Belly; Savannah Faux and Jake Fitzgerald, Underground Railroad in Illinois; Lauren Giordano, La Salle State Bank; Noah Hancock, Justice Howard C.
