11/27/2012 6:00:00 AM 'Miracle on First Street' returns to downtown La Salle NT Staff La Salle’s Miracle on First Street festivities will be 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 downtown.
Activities include: * Breakfast with Santa at Lock 16 Visitor Center; seating at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., $7 for children, $10 for adults; call (815) 223-1851 for reservations. * Christmas Canal Market, featuring baked goods, fine arts and crafts at Living Word Church of God from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. * Santa’s Workshop at First and Marquette streets from 9 a.m. – noon. Visitors can make a craft. A donation to the food pantry will be rewarded with a free treat. * Picture with Santa at Santa’s House at First and Wright streets from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Photos are free and can be picked up at City Hall after 4:30 p.m. * Hot chocolate and candy canes at Dr. Wendy Sanders’ office from 9 a.m. – noon. Free. * Fire truck rides at City Hall from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. * Pictures with Santa and children 10 and under eat free at Arby’s from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. * Holiday music past and present with pianist Deborrah Wyndham from 11 a.m. – noon at La Salle Public Library. * Holiday tours of the Hegeler Carus Mansion at noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Cost is $5 for children and $7 for adults or $20 per family, includes a free child’s gift. * Christmas movies at Stage 212 from 1– 2:30 p.m. * Bowling at the Gathering Place, discounted price from 1 – 4 p.m. * Carriage rides and Santa’s Workshop at First and Marquette streets from 1 – 4 p.m. * S’mores with La Salle firefighters at Stage 212 from 1 - 4 p.m. Free. * A walk with Santa from The Gathering Place to City Hall, 4 – 4:30 p.m. n Tree lighting at City Hall at 4:30 p.m. n City Hall open house from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.
