Princess tea party to raise funds for L-P play

NT Staff

A Princess Tea Party this month will raise funds for the La Salle-Peru Township High School musical, “Once Upon a Mattress.”

The tea party will be at 1 and 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 344 Joliet St., La Salle. Tickets are $10 per person, and children must be accompanied by an adult. Each seating will serve 60 people, and tickets all must be purchased in advanced.

Tickets will be available at the L-P box office 1-2 p.m. Saturday.

“Little girls can dress like princesses and come for tea with the cast of L-P’s “Once Upon a Mattress.” Cast members will be in costume, and will perform a number of songs from Disney princess movies,” a press release from a tea party organizer read. “Activities will include refreshments, entertainment, face painting, photos with the prince and princess, games, crafts, and more. There also will be a raffle to win a princess beauty set.

“Activity stations will be supervised by LPHS cast members, so adults may sit and enjoy the entertainment while their princesses do the activities.”

Cookies for the tea party are being donated by Nonie’s Bakery in Utica, Steve’s Bakery in Peru, Hy-Vee Bakery in Peru and Illinois Valley Food Center Bakery in La Salle.
