Most of the major work being carried out on the Illinois Valley Community College Peter Miller Community Technology Center is being conducted inside the main building.

But tucked away back on East Campus, major renovations are going on as well.
Construction crews have torn down most of the old temporary buildings and have nearly finished construction of the new maintenance building, as well as adding on to the college’s auto and welding facilities.

In other CTC-related news, the main and east entrances to include thousands of commemorative named bricks purchased by private donors. The brick paver initiative will be launched this spring and is part of the $2.1 million CTC capital campaign.

Also, end zinc panel installation is in progress and the two elevators on opposite ends of the building will be delivered next week. First-floor east end HVAC ductwork and sprinkler installation is more than 90 percent complete, and west end metal framing and ductwork rough-in is in progress.
